Hey there!
Hackers are a problem that almost everyone is aware of. The amount of hackers stinks, and nobody likes to have to fight a hacker, but there is only so much that both the staff, and community can do to combat hackers.
It's extremely difficult, if not impossible to code a plugin to stop hacking. Most of the remaining hacked clients that find their way onto the servers do not send a message to the server letting the server know what mod is being used. Better sprint mod does, and that is why that mod is blocked from our servers, but other hacks do not do the same thing. In order to block it, the server would have to see inside a players minecraft jar, which I do not think is possible, but I'm not sure. Even with all that said, trust me when I say that if there's a way, the developers will find it, and do their absolute best to code it
There are currently 150+ staff members, and 2,000+ players currently on the MCGamer network. It'd be impossible for the staff to keep tabs on all of these people, but I assure you they are doing their best.
Because of the mass amount of players, help from the community when it comes to dealing with hackers is extremely important.
If you find a hacker(s) in-game, you have two options:
-Poke a moderator (crossed iron swords rank) on TeamSpeak (ts.mcgamer.net) with the server, and IGN of the suspected hacker, and they will come spectate, and deal with the hacker appropriately
-Record and upload 'Unlisted' proof of the player hacking to YouTube, then report it here on the forums. The staff will handle all reports, and deal with any hackers that way
These two things greatly help the staff, and the hacker problem in general as we are all able to cover more ground, and punish hackers as necessary.
Beyond that, there really isn't much that can be done. Everyone is doing their absolute best, and gradually bringing down the amount of hackers.
Because this thread has limited room for discussion, and has been discussed already; Thread Locked.
Feel free to contact me with any further questions- I'd be happy to help you out!
