Well, I'm not going to say that I can be your skype partner, but I can still give you a fewguidelines for various things
1. Joey Graceffa is highly frowned upon by many, many members of the professional MCSG community, for various reasons. He is also not a good role model - Remember that video where he had his car towed at night? Yeah, it was actually blocking someone's entire driveway... The guy who lives there posted a video with a picture of the car in front of his driveway.
2. Welcome to MCSG
3. There are a lot of mean players on any video game community, and MCSG is no exception. Your best bet is to find a few girls to hang out with, as they are generally (stereotypically, some might say) nicer, because they are less competitive and killing-oriented.
4. Find a Chest Route for as many maps as you can. Stick to it, refine it, make sure it has lots of "Tier Two's"
5. Tier 2 = Higher-level items, such as gold/chain/iron armor, diamonds, better food, etc.
6. Tier 1 = Lower level items, such as leather armor, wooden axes, stone axes, wooden swords, stone swords.
7. The best level of weapon you can find in a chest is the Stone Sword. You'll have to craft anything higher than that.
8. Bows are useful for long range. Bow-spamming, if done correctly, can deal small amounts of damage and annoy the enemy a lot, but don't do it if they're really close to you.
9. The "Fishing Rod" Tactic is something you will see a lot of pro players do. It is used to stun players, hit them into walls, and many other things
10. Read guides on the Forums and other websites about PVP
11. Develop your own style of PVPing. Don't copy Joey Graceffa, ThatOneTomahawk, or anyone else. Do what you're comfortable with - Remember, YouTubers and a lot of pro players often have equipment like a mouse with hotkey buttons to switch between their sword and flint n' steel or something else really, really fast.
12. Get OptiFine if you don't already have it. It generally improves your FPS (Frames Per Second) and you can use it to zoom in on far away things.
13. Get a texture pack you like. It makes the game more fun
14. Make friends, and team with them. It'll make the game a lot more enjoyable, and you'll learn faster - You can share techniques, chest routes, tips, and experiences.
15. I know this is kinda cheesy and really mean, but it's probably true: If a guy approaches you and asks to team, it's often just because you're a girl. Sounds mean, but it's true literally 8/10 times - Back in December of 2012, me and two friends got girl skins (CraftyKratonite and Cowall) and we trolled guys by getting them to give us items.
16. If you see someone with stronger gear, run away. Do not engage (Fight) unless you have to, or if they're AFK or you're really, really good.
17. Always beware of hackers. Treat every fight like the other person has full iron, diamond sword, and aimbot. Even if you know they don't, it's never a good thing to let your guard down - You might kill them with 2 hearts left, and then when you are going through their gear, someone else sneaks up on you and KO's you. This leads into 18.
18. Always look around before going through piles of loot. Make sure no one can sneak up on you.
19. Always be aware of your surroundings. If you're in a giant open field, you're very vulnerable to teams and snipers, because you can't dodge and lose them in trees or around obstacles.
20. If you can, get the other person in water and you standing on land. You'll have the advantage, as they can't move as fast as you, and it's harder for them to get on land. Also, it's easier to shoot someone while on land, because you're not bobbing up and down.
21. If you're on land and they're not, then do something called "Land-to-water strafing". Run left and right, and make sure they can't hit you, but you can hit them. You'll get more hits on them. If you can, wait until they're about 2-3 blocks away from land, and then jump to one of their sides (So they can't hit you) and then hit them while falling (to get critical hits) and try and just all-around deal as much damage, while they're confused. I do this, and I recently killed a person in full iron, iron sword while I had full leather, wooden sword - Using this tactic - On a livestream.
22. If you're in-game and have a teammate, don't team with other people unless you kinda know them. Odds are, they'll try to backstab you.
23. Type using good grammar - It makes you seem more professional, and if you practice using it, then you'll have an easier time doing it in school as well.
24. Get Critical Hits if possible. The requirements in MC for a "Critical hit" are if you are falling. Not if you're jumping, although that's the main way to achieve the status of "falling".
25. Have fun! This is a video game, it's not supposed to be stressing or depressing if you lose. Laugh and joke with your friends, and have a good time. Sometimes this can mean jumping into lava pits together when it's just you and your friends left in the game.
Almost forgot:
Join a clan! Clans are great ways to make friends, and also to learn new strategies, tips, and practice your PvP.
Use TeamSpeak sometimes. You can meet new people that way, and it's also very, very convenient for communicating
Follow all the rules. Learn to play without hacks, and don't spam or anything. It'll be more fun if you don't get banned

The Tips and Strategies Forum:
http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/forums/strategies/ - All the threads about tips and strategies, it's a good idea to skim over some of them and learn what you can.
Two rather good PVP/MSG Guides:
http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/mooclans-mcsg-and-pvp-guide.64583/ - Really detailed, like 3 pages.
http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/ultimate-mcsg-pvp-guide.63617/ - Short and sweet, but it covers some pretty good stuff.
The Clan forum:

Some good clans:
http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/the-rebels-us-clan.34545/ - One of the top clans, I have some friends in there, they're really cool guys.
http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/the-elitesquad.68393/ - My clan, it used to be the 3rd best, but it disbanded for a little while in April or something and was just recently restarted, but it's over a year old.
http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/aviate-us-ca-divison.55970/ - A really good clan, quite well-known.
http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/the-titans-us-ca-team.49437/page-192#post-767900 - Led by the creator of the Rebels, also a very good clan.
You can also make your own Clan, but it's not recommended until you have a few hundred wins and/or are well-known on the Forums.
If you don't qualify for any clans (Most require 200+) then you can ask to be a "Cheerleader", which is like being a "Friend" of the clan, and if you're seen in-game, then most of the time you "Truce" (but make sure to ask just in case)
Also, Clans often count something called "Ratios" - That is, how many "Wins" you have compared to your "Total Games". If you have 100 wins and 500 games played, then you have what's called a "20% ratio". A good ratio is often considered 10%+, but the higher you can get yours, the better. Some people have 50%+ ratios, but most of them are on "Alt accounts" that are owned by really experienced players that bought secondary accounts to start their ratio over again.
