Name changes comfirmed?

I was just wondering since I had seen a post talking about what our names will be in 1.8 with the name changes coming, if this had been comfirmed for 1.8 does anybody have any evidence that name changes are coming any time in the near future?

Yes, there will be name changing in 1.8. It has been confirmed by Jeb on his Twitter, though it may not be AS SOON as 1.8 comes out. https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/441202873599545344
