I mean, I guess this thread isn't really to complain or hate on mcsg, because at one point I was getting a lot of enjoyment and good gameplay out of it.. but it's more to state why exactly I stopped playing it and why I can't get back into it.
Before the Hub, I would be a regular player on the server Eu22, with a group of online friends of course, now what would happen is that we'd join a call on skype or teamspeak or whatever, and play on Eu22, and then join again, and play again, and probably win again. I think it'd be fair to say that within that one server I was pretty well known, it seemed to be that most of the same people would join pretty much every day, and seeing as I was a donor at that point, people wanted to team up with me and my friends (who the majority were also donors).
It gave you a true feeling of community, like, you knew where you stood, and if you were in a bad position you could always just join a different server right? having more than one to go to regularly and get to know the regulars there.
When the new hub was introduced (if i'm correct I might not be I never really looked into it) It's split into different regions, so there's an eu hub a us hub etc etc.. anyway, this makes it nearly impossible (without donor) to constantly join the same server, and although the hub does serve as a good way to manage server joining and stuff, it really destroyed the little groups of friends and everything within the servers..
Maybe it was just my lethargy towards minecraft that stopped me playing or maybe it was the fact that I couldn't find the people I would usually play with.. if i'm honest it was probably due to the fact that a lot of stuff was going on at home during the summer holidays, but oh well, I felt the need to create a thread about this.. it isn't a complaint, just a statement.. I think the hub played a part in my minecraft's death.
