Updates!!!
So today we had "The Community Update" released, and boy it's a big one, and I'm going to cover every bit of it.
So first up is the big news: 1.7 support. I feel this is a good idea, and that many players will accept this after a little time. This adds back some love for PvP players and their games, while still giving the other gamemodes the 1.8 support for performance. Overall a smart move and great addition.
Next up is the new hub: This is honestly my favorite hub out of the 5 that we've had. It gives every player a clear view of each and every game that is offered and it's not an outrageously long walk to get there. I also like the removal of mini-hubs. Even though they were great for personalizing the games, it just made the trip even longer.
Now we have the Anti-Cheat: This is apparently working because there seem to be less people complaining about hackers and more bans are being dealt out.
Solo Servers: I like this idea because even though I haven't seen it, many people say the teams are out of hand. Saying teams of 5-7 are everywhere. I don't see them so I must be lucky. Although it will be tough to keep teams out of it, this will really help a lot of people out there, and with separate leaderboards, no more teams 'ruining' ratios.
Upcoming Events: I'm not going to go over each one, but anything that can bring the community together is a good idea, and events do just that, so bring them on.
Points Update: I've thought that points were a little strange, just kind of sitting there. Not many people used them for bounties so they usually were just an indicator of how good you were. Now they actually do something for you, which is great and tells you that you get out what you put in, and what goes around comes around. Your hard work finally pays off.
Overall I think this was a step in the right direction for the network, it makes things more efficient and user-friendly, as well as answering some of the community's biggest complaints.
