While I was working on Skyscraper Smackdown, a few ideas came into my head, more concepts for maps that I haven't seen anywhere, so why not make a thread about them. I have ideas for a few maps, and perhaps (when SS is finished) I could actually make one if you guys like the ideas.
Idea #1: Twistrail Station
One of my early ideas, before I even thought up Skyscraper Smackdown, was a train station/old mining community type of map. The map would combine the two, with an old-fashioned train station in the middle, a big town surrounding it, and some abandoned mines, all nestled in between the Rocky Mountains. But it isn't called "Twistrail" for nothing, because of an earthquake or something of the sort, the tracks for the trains are twisted in many unusual places, creating some odd paths for the trains to follow (some may be even upside-down). The corn would be a giant turntable (of course) and would lead to several routes, dotted with chests along the way.
Idea #2: Molten Mount
If I was surprised about the maps I've seen, none of them seemed to be a lava/volcano themed map (with the exception of Demon's Breeze, but that map is pretty 'geh' IMO). Molten Mount would be based in and around a volcano, with giant pools and streams of lava. The idea give opportunities for risky-rewarding parkour as well as some interesting locals, like a burned down village, or a creepy mine. The corn will be in the center of the volcano with streams of lava spewing from around it. Hopefully, falling in the lava won't be too easy.
Idea #3: Casinopolis
Granted, the name isn't the best, but the concept is simple: a giant casino, or possibly a city full of them, like Las Vegas. Of course, the map would be bright and colourful and look very appealing (especially at night). Chests could be hidden inside giant slot machines, which players need to climb up through. The corn would be a giant roulette or poker chip, and skills (as well as luck) will be needed to survive the casino.
So what do you think about these ideas? What would you like to improve about these ideas? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear your suggestions.
