If you're talking about EU servers lag spikes it's because someone is doing a DDoS on EU servers.
Chad said it should be fixed soon.

How come EU servers get DDoS a lot? I'm not talking about MCSG servers, it just seems to be happen a lot with Minecraft servers in Europe.

Anyways, my best solution would be to install Optifine and follow this guide. It was for 1.6 but it should work for any version.

You can email [email protected] if you think the lag has something to do with MCGamer - but remember to include as much information as possible like the type of lag (The jittery kind, or freeze lag) and the circumstances in which it occurs

Lag happens quite often on MCSG and it has always been fixed. It will be fixed soon
