how can servers catch people for x ray or hacks because i have my own PRIVATE server for custom maps and stuff and i think he is cheating so just wondering

Usually, we, the players, submit reports about players who have been modding to the report abuse forums so Ops can issue a punishment.

We post screenshots OR if someone is able to use a recording program, a video of the player in question conducting any foul play.

I'm pretty sure you can stop this by using a bukkit program. I'm almost positive that there is one that scans for x-ray texture packs.
