My suggestion would be never make a gold sword under any circumstances, any other sword would be better. However, if you have enough gold, I would recommend making a butter block, it is quite fun.

Just a few minutes ago i was playing SG5 and i had a Gold Sword, Chain Helmet, Leather Pants, and gold boots. and this guy with iron boots and a iron sword runs up to me and 2 shots me. Is this a hacker?! I could've win the first game ever... :'(

Like Nate said, you could try watching youtubers play MCSG.. Check the media section of the website for that. You could also try going on teamspeak and talking with players if you can. There are some pretty cool people on there

Its just like irl. Gold is a soft metal so easy to break and wont deal as much damage as a more solid object, e.g. stone, iron.

Well i believe this question has been answered and the same points about "butter" are reoccurring.
