iPhone Issues

So basically, 2 christmas's ago I got a galaxy s 2. I used mostly for stuff like games, and calling family every once in a while. I also didn't do social media. Well, our contract is up, and I want an iPhone. I want one because I could hardly ever use my other phone because the battery lasted like 10 minutes. Anyways my dad bought me one, but when she told my stepmom she freaked. She wants to take it back because I never used my old phone. But the thing is, I've gotten older, and I go places by myself now that I would need a phone to contact my parents (one that doesn't die instantly). What should I tell her?

That part confused me ^^^ But anyways, it is better to be social off your phone, then anti social on your phone. Just my view. Also, you kind of need a phone for emergency uses, and it is really convenient to have when your parents forget to pick you up somewhere.

Just tell her that it is overpriced, and you will exchange it for a better/cheaper Android phone, and you need one incase of an emergency and you need to contact her.
