Impersonation?!

Hello people,
All i would like to know is the answer to these questions:
1. Is impersonation over the internet illeagal?
2. If someone is impersonating someone else/ impersonating a made up person can that be a bannable offence?
(Like if a boy is pretending to be a girl?)
3. How would one report the 2nd question

It usually depends, however within the MCGamer network, it is prohibited to impersonate any staff members or anyone famous within the community.

I'm not sure if it's illegal to impersonate someone over the internet. It would probably be hard to get someone punished for that if it's an MCSG related thing. However, I'm pretty sure you can get in trouble for doing it here, and you'd probably need to speak to a higher staff member to get that handeled.

If you are impersonating someone in order to harm them (Such as ruining their reputation, breaking friendships, etc.) or for your own personal gain, then that is most likely illegal or punishable.a

There was a well-known player on MCSG and map-maker who pretended they were a girl, but turned out to be a male. That same person later become one of the best-known MCSG YouTubers, using another name.
That is not a punishable offense. However, such activities are strongly frowned upon.

Since it's not really a punishable offense (unless the requirements for #1 are fulfilled) there is no real way to report it. If you feel that the person is deserving of a ban or warning by the MCGamer staff, you should Private Message (PM) a Senior Moderator.
