The ability to know everything.

The reason for this is that I could go to vegas/mega-millions and know what the winning numbers were, therefore being able to make, essentially infinite money. You could also see the multiple streams of the future and plan your actions to make the world play out as you see fit.

Also you could build a lightsaber, and I'm sorry but that trumps everything.

The downside is that you know everything. Every gruesome secret about someone, the horrific government conspiracies, knowing that some of your historic heroes were really villains, and even know what happens after death.

The worse part is that no one will believe you because you have no evidence. Win too many times at the casino and they'll accuse you of cheating. You would be ostracized by your peers because of your large knowledge, and be on your own intellectual plane where you'd be all alone, with people thinking you're a lunatic gambler.

If the gambling thing doesn't work, make a company. Invent revolutionary ideas which everyone has to have now that it exists. Play the media, and teach other people stuff so that they may one day be as wise as you.

Reading through this thread was actually quite interesting. It goes to show that sometimes superpowers aren't all they're made up to be.

Immortality:

Pros-

• You literally never die.

Cons-

• Your friends and family will all die before you, leaving you alone. Sure, you could make new friends, but you could never forget them, nor 'make' a new family.
• What on earth would you do? Trust me, you can't play MCSG forever, watch TV, or do whatever else it is you like doing. Life would be so incredibly boring after a certain point, and it would never end.

X-Ray vision:

Pros-

• You could see through walls, doors-- anything. You'd be the master of hide-n-seek, as well

Cons-

• You could see through everything. Everything. That doesn't always have it's benefits

Flying-

Pros-

• You can go anywhere anytime.

Cons-

• Probably not the safest way to travel (birds, planes, etc.), and can you imagine how crazy you'd look wih wind blown hair all over the place landing?

Something else to add is if you actually had powers in real life, you'd probably spend all of your time locked up in a research lab with a bunch of scientists, instead of using your powers.

Something else to add, is imagine how your friends, family, and other people would react. Would you be ostracized? Would you make friends only to learn they're just using you? It could be a real mess

This is of course, real-life terms, and people won't be getting powers anytime soon. Even with all this considered-- it's still really fun to think about having powers, and what you'd do with them
