I cant join any of the servers

Hi, im new, and im having some trouble joining. First of all, i know how to add a server or do a direct connection and all that hoo haa, i also have written the correct server name (no spelling mistakes) but it always says: cant reach server. I live in australia, im not sure if that changes anything, i hope not. Thanks.

PS. I have followed the tutorial for going on the server, so please dont link me to it.
