I cannot craft?

I haven't played on the survival games server for a while and I cannot craft during matches. I was just wondering if this is normal or there is something wrong because I have seen other players with iron and diamond swords. I was thinking maybe they got those out of tier 2 chests... or... either way please help.

There's a bit of a bug with crafting in 1.5, you just have to make sure you don't do it too fast, and that you do not use shift while crafting.

Using shift is perfectly fine for me? I'm only getting the laggy crafting a little bit I've worked on a couple of ways around it.

- Do not separate the items Eg. you have 4 flint but 2 sticks, don't split them, leave in the crafting table.

- When having to split items (2 iron etc.) Just place it in the crafting table then split it, it seems to work better.

- Craft a little slower than usual, seems to help alot.

Update:
This bug has been fixed on the US servers, but not on CA AU or EU
It will most definitely be fixed when Minecraft 1.5.1 comes out (which is very soon)
