How do you teach someone to PVP or play minecraft?

Hi, I need to teach my friend how to play minecraft or PVP like a boss but it might be hard becuase she dosnt know how to do anything on it. Any tips I can use to make her become good? Just remember she's only starting.

I would start off playing survival first. Then showing her the basics (Crafting and such). To get better with pvp I would find a pvp kit server. So your friend doesn't die each time they are in a hunger games.
