How did everyone get the name of their character?

I was just wondering, after seeing people in lobbies with weird names. Or I would see really cool names. I would think to my self (what a wonderful world... ;3 jk) how they got that name.

I personally got my name from my dad. His email has something to do with Mgdandme, I am not going to tell you his e-mail , he made 7 years ago. (o.o) He did it as a joke (Mgd is a achoholic beverage for those of you who dont know. It is my dads favorite.) but he kept it for the memories of his old friends that died in a car accident. When I got MineCraft, I didn't choose my name. My dad bought it for me as a birthday present. He thought it would be easy to remember so he used it for that. Now that you know my name's backstory, whats yours?

My name for most things is YouGotPowelled. However my full name is Ross Andrew Powell. I originally thought of the name when creating my YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/yougotpowelled) because I wanted something catchy, almost like a catchphrase- in which I can say after I discuss a topic or celebrity/trend. So the definition to 'Get Powelled' is to get ranted about or raved about by yours truly! Plus it works well being able to abbreviate the name to YGP: I use that a lot on YouTube to title my videos and make them distinguishable.

Well, my forum name is a shortened form of my Minecraft username, Liveininfamy. That phrase comes from FDR's speech after the Pearl Harbor bombing. He stated that December 7th was a date that would "Forever live in infamy."

When I went to school in Texas my teachers had a fantasy football competition. TheManeEvent was my P.E teacher's username and that's exactly how he spelled it. To make fun of him, I used that as my name. Great story eh?

Was thinking of a new Username, since I always kinda disliked Hirogami.

Erisyuka: Name of a character from the anime Karneval, don't particularly care for the character, but like the name.

• In Japanese エリシュカ (Erishuka) But I see always see it spelled Erisyuka, and personally I like how that looks better.
• I'm pretty sure the name comes from the Czech name Eliška.

Pronounced: eh ri shoe ka
Eris or Eri for short.

When it comes to usernames, I have to have it exactly how I want it, and the name has to be available for most other services I'm planning on associating it with. So that narrows down my options a lot. As long as the main place I'll be using it has the name available I'm willing to compromise a bit on other places.

And that's how I ended up with this username, which I only really use for MCSG related things.

I was able to get the Youtube Erisyuka but not the gmail...
