Ok this is getting beyond a joke.
I do not want to start a multiplayer server.
I just want to direct connect two computers so we can play multiplayer.
My networking skills are very much out of date.
I am using a direct cable, ethernet.
From my pc i can see a hosted game on minecraft, when i try to join the connection times out.
From the other pc they cannot see my host.
(Now for the fun part)
On my pc i cannot see the other computer (shared folders ect)
On the other pc they can see this computer and shared files, but cannot access without a password or username, and this computer does not have a password, so when i leave the password field blank with the correct username, it does not let me access this computer.
All i have done is plug in a ethernet cable. Both versions of minecraft are 1.6.2. However they are logged into the same account (offline).
WTF
