Help! LAG!

I need tips to prevent lag when playing the game. Like really when I play that's all that happens is lag. I thought my CPU was good and all... I closed all other applications, set MC to priority, anything else I can do? It's quite frustrating

Install Optifine, allocate more RAM to Minecraft, turn down graphics, smooth lighting, render distance, etc.

It is generally recommended that you have a decent amount of ram installed as well as having a dedicated graphics card.

hello. My friend also got lag on this servers. The problem is that he doesn't lag on any other server. He alredy instaled optifine and allocated more ram on minecraft but he is still freezing. What should he do to solve the problem?
