Getting server lag?

On us mcsg:
You know when everyone freezes and you can't hit anybody?
Well I got a problem...
I am chasing someone in water and they freeze so I start hitting them but they don't register then 15 seconds later he appears to be so far away from me and I am far far behind cause I stopped.
Then I am getting chased and the lag hits... I just swin away from the guy and as soon as the lag is over I am dead.

This has been here for 3-4 days or more now.
Always get this stuff every once a while in a game.

Any tips you have that I can do so I can survive the lag?

Well, sometimes it might be your internet, which then I would suggest maybe upgrading, or buying an Ethernet connection (wired internet connection. Most cables only cost around 20$).

Sometimes though, mcsg might be laggy for everyone because they are getting ddos'd, just randomly losing packets, or simply doing server matinence or updating. If this is the case, there's really nothin you can do. It happens to everyone.

Well mcsg is the only server I get this lag on.
I have ethernet btw.
Also I think mcsg servers just get lag spikes here and there.
Mostly when I play a bunch of different other servers I and others don't just freeze up.
Plus i was teamed with my cousin who lives like away from me and we were in the same game.
He said he was frozen too and I was too.
So can't be both of us at the same time unless its server lag.
