Forever a spectator...

I've never participated in a game. Whenever I join, I'm a spectator. I fly around and watch the game until the end when the the server stops. I go back to multiplayer and hit refresh until it opens back up, but then it doesn't let me join. "Stream has ended" and "server is full". Am I doing something wrong?

No you just have to keep trying when the game ends to get back in, wait for it to pop back up. You could also donate to the servers and be guaranteed a spot.
