Hi folks!!! We are delighted to announce that we have finally come upon the promised land: an officially hosted clan tournament.
This first tournament will be invitational, meaning that the participating clans are already selected and there will be no need for applications. We will kick off in early March with battles scheduled over a couple of weekends, so be prepared to set time aside if you wish to play! This tournament marks a significant progression in clan-staff relations, as it is being run jointly by selected clan staff members and community members in charge of the much-loved EU clan leaderboards (see below for the full list of tournament staff). During battles, clans are required to carry out their communications in specially designated channels on the MCGamer teamspeak (ts.mcgamer.net), with at least one clan staff and one leaderboard staff member overseeing. This serves both as a measure against foul play and a way of ensuring rulings and the like are effectively communicated between tournament staff and players.
The EUCLB staff have settled upon a seeding for the perceived top 8 clans. The seeds are based on a combination of EUCLB ranks since the New Year, results of regular clan battles and the anticipated strength of the clans. We do not expect everyone to agree entirely with our seeding, but we do feel it will make for a well-matched and exciting tournament.
This is a multi-purpose event, but as always the primary purpose is for the players to have fun contesting competitive clan battles! Our statisticians have reported that over 80% of the EU clan community had a Minecraft PvP clan event on their Christmas or birthday wishlist, giving us no choice but to oblige. We also hope that this and any subsequent tournaments will repair some of broken bridges between the clan community and the staff team. No other server has a clan community like ours, so it only makes sense for us to nurture it and help it to flourish, with our ultimate hope being for a future on MCGamer where clan events are frequent and there is a mutual trust between staff and the clan community.
- Battles will be carried out on MCSG Maker servers
- The following in game rules will be implemented:
- Battles will follow these rules with the exception of rule 14. These additional rules will also be implemented:
- Battles will be a first to 5 rounds
- The minimum number of players for each battle is a 5v5 - however 6v6+ is preferred. The maximum is 8v8. If a team is short of players at the scheduled time they must play outnumbered.
- At the start of each battle, a staff member will use https://www.random.org/lists/ to provide a sequence of the 9 default maps dictating the order of play. which the clan battle will be played. Each round will be played following the order of the maps on the list.
- The following maps are 'default' and will be used for the random list: Valleyside, SG4, Chernobyl, Alaskan Village, SG Highway, Turbulence, TSG2, Par 72, Zone 85 and Green Grass.
- A 2 minute grace period will be set using the mutator.
- The battle will commence with spectators being allowed - however, if one of the participating clans does not have a sufficient amount of players to include spectators they will not be allowed.
- Once a lobby has entered pre-game, the match will be officially in motion, EXCEPT if a team is somehow disadvantaged in lobby and has taken this disadvantage into pre-game. In this scenario, the disadvantaged team will be allowed to pull out of the server DURING pre-game to redo the round. If the disadvantaged team does not pull out during pre-game, the round must go on.
- Postponements will not be allowed as there will be times organised that are convenient for both clans, however food breaks up to an hour are permitted.
- Once all the members of a clan are dead, the round will officially be over.
- Ghost killing is allowed.

Medals will be allocated to the top 8 participating members of the final 2 clans. You will also receive the pride and joy of winning the first ever official MCGamer clan event.
We also are planning on hosting a mini award ceremony after the event to commend clans/players for things such as good sportsmanship, outstanding leadership and booming plays!!
