Enderpearls?

Are enderpearls disabled on the servers?
I tried throwing one over the glass dome from the tallest tower in the second map... But all it did was teleport me in place and I was wondering if I messed up throwing somehow or if it's just disabled altogether.

Of course it's probably disabled BECAUSE of that...

I've seen people teleport before, so maybe it hit a spectator or something? (Hitting spectators teleports you to right below them)

That was probably it.
I managed to make it outside of the dome today
And then I ran into one of the tunnels to suicide in the 50 mobs there.
Totally worth it.
