I mean, I was going to say something helpful but this is about it. All of these will definitely fix or lighten up any lag-related issues you or anyone would be havingEntirely depends on the map.
But here's some things that can aid your FPS of you're having an trouble:
-Use optifine- a mod which is completely legal on MCSG, easy to set up and claims to boost your Minecraft fps (by around 200/300%). Also comes with some cool graphical features and the optimisation is pretty best when you get used to it.
-Change java priority: You can change your java priority via task manager under the ' details' section to 'higher' or 'real time'. You should see an increase of around 30+ fps. But it can affect my mouse sometimes (I have the razer naga 2012 edition)
-Try and configure any Minecraft settings if they're quite CPU intensive, especially if yours is weak and the game most relies on it. (Eg render distance, animations etc.)
-Use razer game booster. It's a cool program that automatically optimises your game and helps my fps out a ton c:

I personally do not experience much lag unless I crank up my render settings to something crazy and record with fraps. (rip my frames)
