Difference between 1.7 sprint and BSM?

What's different about BSM and the 1.7 sprint key? What advantages do BSM have over 1.7 sprint? I'd like to use BSM with 1.6.4 because optifine hasn't been released for 1.7. If there is any, please reply what they or what they do.
Thanks, Xennxo:cool:

Better Sprinting mod has several advantages that 1.7 sprint does not. I'll give you some examples:

Sprint in 1.7 adds a key that, when toggled, allows you to sprint.

However, BSM adds several advantages of sprinting that are unfair, including:

-Toggle sprint jumping and sneaking with one hotkey.
-The ability to sprint backwards and sideways.
-The ability to take damage (fire, PvP) and continue sprint jumping at the same speed.
-The ability to do certain actions that otherwise could only be done while walking or standing.
For crying out loud, you can only sprint backwards and sideways with BSM in Singleplayer.

-The ability to sprint backwards and sideways.
This does NOT work in multiplayer servers that do not support BSM, so completely useless on a server like ours.
-Toggle sprint jumping and sneaking with one hotkey.
Toggle sprint jumping? BSM does not change the speed with which you run, so that would be false. What advantage does toggle sneak give? The same effect can be achieved by keeping a weight down on your shift key, or going full-screen (using f11), the latter being much easier.
-The ability to do certain actions that otherwise could only be done while walking or standing.
What exactly are these actions? While I used BSM on my own server, I did not notice any differences between that and holding down the sprint key.
-The ability to take damage (fire, PvP) and continue sprint jumping at the same speed.
This again is false, you can get the exact same effect by holding down the sprint key, which many people do.
**EDIT**
Here's a video using each of the two.

(Currently being processed so the quality is less than desirable)

To be completely honest, 1.7 has more advantages once you get used to it. It activates your sprint automatically if you hit the sprint key, as opposed to when you hit the ground with BSM. I'm uploading a video now showing the two, I really don't see why everyone thinks BSM is some crazy hack...

Some things you can do with 1.7 but not BSM:
Sprint mid-air. If you're falling from a giant tower but forgot to sprint, you can still hit the sprint key while mid-air and start sprinting before you hit land. With BSM, you need to be touching the ground before you can sprint. (Also if someone hit you and you're midair you can sprint if you time it right
Sprint while swimming. Before, you had to touch the ocean floor to sprint, but now you can do it at any time in water.

However, BSM also has some advantages that can be used in any old multiplayer server (Unless it's banned, like on MCG)
You can press a key once, and whenever you press W it auto-sprints. It can be disabled by pressing the hotkey again.
A bunch of others, but there's mosquitoes biting me so BYEE

Your blood must taste nice if the mosquitoes want it so much. psst, be careful of the bats and vampires.

I don't really see why people think that that is an advantage, when I play I'm holding down shift all the time anyway.

Some people don't want to set it to a convenient key, or maybe their finger that they use to hold the key hurts really badly after a little while. It's a small advantage. But it also lets you move your fingers around more, such as to press "1" to switch to your sword or something more easily (I have my sprint key set on Shift, sneak on Control. When I'm using the fishing rod to get a quick stun, I usually press 1 to switch back to my sword, but when I'm using the sprint key I can't.)
