Could members of the community host a event?

I was wondering if I could host a event, this wouldn't be a official MCGamer event or anything but I would like to give a little something to this community, and I feel like this would be a enjoyable time for those who compete in it

Of course you can host your own event, but MCGamer can't really help you with it. If it's gonna be on a server than it's gotta be your own or you can host a event on any of the game modes but you just gotta join one with all the attendees. Don't expect them to help you because they won't!

Now this leaves the question. If mcsg decides to support a member's event, are they allowed to have staff of their event that aren't staff on mcsg? That and would they be able to pick their own staff?
