Banned for flying?

Hi, I'm sure this won't do any good, but about an hour ago my friend Matthew (ingame name: rectogon) was in the overflow hub trying to jump down and was banned for 7 days. The reason was for flying? Is there anyone he can speak to or anything he can do to get unbanned since he was only lagging? Thank you
