1.8 PVP Suggestions

Does anyone have suggestions for 1.8? I have some friends who continuously crash after about 20 minutes. I know the VBOS feature boosts fps, but I was wondering if their are any other optimum settings for 1.8.

Well, for starters you can download Optifine, which in case you don't already have it is a performance enhancing mod that can up to double your frame rate depending on your commputer and its compatibility. When Optifine releases an update for Minecraft 1.8.3, things should get even better given that 1.8.3 was released to patch all of the existing performance issues with previous 1.8 versions. Until then, I'd just play on whatever you're currently doing and lower your render distance/graphics qualities a little bit.

I have my render distance on 2, and all the other bad settings, and have mc on a small window instead of full screen, and i get a solid 60 fps (not good, but fps over quality)
