Today the survival server was shutdown, without warning, and little explanation to the players. (Except that the SR Staff were tired of dealing with the drama) When they shutdown the server, they knew that there was going to be backlash, and rightfully so IMO. But, I don't like the way the staff has handled it. Instead of taking the force of the backlash, that they knew they would face, they have decided to disrupt it. Almost like how some countries prevent protests. I would like to see the community (mostly the staff) evolve towards more of a US type attitude. I was one of the many people who expressed their disliking of the closer, and the staff did all they could to prevent it. They deleted one of my posts, just because it was a strong (but peaceful) complaint. They also locked a thread I had wrote, because several players were complaining.

It is time for MCG to allow its players to express their opinions, in a peaceful manner. It is time for MCG to not shutdown servers, because they can't handle the drama, and without warning the players first. Without the players MCG is nothing, and it is time they except the consequences of their actions. (ex: closing a server leads to complaining) MCG should not prevent players from peaceful complaining. All the complaints today were in a non flamewar matter, as all agreed on the same topic. But, still the thread was locked, as it was con MCG. Please staff, let the players express their opinions. It is those opinions that make the server better in the end. After all it is the players that make MCG what it is.

??? form who? The players loved it.
You answered it for me. Way too much drama to handle. I'm positive if you were staff, you wouldn't like it either.

Regarding the 'sharing opinions' bit, you've got to keep them calm and concise. I've seen a lie in your post ' "none of the posts where flaming". I saw two posts, one from your thread, that were susceptible to a flame war.

We shut down survival for the community's sake, not because we "could not handle the drama". The players were ripping each other apart for the simple fact that they wanted to be the best on the server, peaceful competition is fine, as its a game, but when it gets down to personal info being released, players threatening and abusing others, ect. it's gone too far. And honestly, what would you rather have, a server where everyone hates each other, or no server.

You shut it down because there was drama, though.

There was drama from people.
ik, but MCG still should have been able to handle it. But anyway, I am more upset about the way they went about handling the server shut down, than the fact that they shut it down.

I understand, but it was a very immediate situation that needed to be dealt with ASAP. And the fact that it was the first topic dealt with in a two and a half hour Sr. Staff meeting that was running late anyway meant that we needed to focus on more important issues at the time, so it was dealt with very quickly.
