The actions listed there have little to do with the Map Committee....

Removing Hungry Hills (Even though this was Re - Added)
Hungry Hills was removed far before the Map Committee was created.

Removing Freeze Island / Demons Breeze ( A majority of the community wants these 2 maps back)
Actually, a majority of the community wanted them removed. The forum community heavily wanted Freeze Island removed but the in-game poll showed that the in-game community wanted Demons Breeze removed. Now, I know there are a group of people saying the poll wasn't written correctly and that is was misunderstood. Personally, I knew exactly what the poll was asking even though I had no part in making it or even choosing for a poll to be made. However the matter, this issue is already being worked on.

Adding Fallen Colossi (Even though it won the PMC contest, it's EXTREMELY underplayed and not exactly a fan favorite)
Here's the thing with Fallen Colossi AND Destiny's Shiver- The top three maps from the Planet Minecraft competition were going to be added. It was said when the contest was started that the top three finalist would be added to the servers. Also, the Map Committee didn't exist when the contest was underway or when they were added. Both are (if not already) being removed since they are not popular. This choice to remove them was made by the Map Committee.

So, what I'm trying to show here is there are quite a few misconceptions against the Map Committee. A lot of the unfavorable decisions with maps were made before the Map Committee existed. We've fixed a lot of these (Fallen Colossi and Hungry Hills for example). To sum it up, please look into the matter before making false assumptions or accusations, thank you :)

I feel that they map committee was a good first step but we need to do more. I think the reason that a lot of maps aren't added is because, while the forum community may love it, the in-game community won't.

But now that the Map Committee has been set in place, why has nothing been done about these maps, or the rest of the complaints?

I wasnt really trying to say that those examples were the Map Committee's fault, i was just stating the complaints people have made over past few months regarding to maps.

The main problem I find is that many in game players do not care enough to pick good maps. I'll explain. A player who has never been on the forums will see a poll in game saying which map they want added, X or Y. They follow a link in game to the forum where they see both maps. The problem is, however, that one map has screenshots full of effects and shaders while the other one is default texture pack. The player picks the first one because to him it looks pretty even if the other one was better built. Players act like sheep and without knowledge will always support the loudest thing. Be that thread, map or person.

we are working on it but we are going to release it all at the same time plus the changes we make need a dev to push them out to the servers so them not being done right it not our fault.

also i would like to add that what looks good in a forum post may not look good in game and a lot of people go by looks we download the maps and look at them then we think will people like it and how meny people have said they like it then we test it also a few maps that the comunity want on the servers like naborhood have conditions by the creator that we do not agree with.

I also felt that having two Red Forest members in the Map Comittee would be a bit unfair to the other map makers, considering that the Red Forest members themselves can easily add their own map to MCSG.
With the matter of discussing maps made by teams in the Map Committee, the team that made it is left out of the discussion. For example, if Red Forest just finished a map and it was being discussed in the committee, Ninetailefox92 and I would be out of the discussion and would have no say in the matter.

But now that the Map Committee has been set in place, why has nothing been done about these maps, or the rest of the complaints?

This is the most common problem that there is. Nobody seems to realize it. Everyone, please just read this^. A lot of people are easily persuaded with texture packs and shaders.

my bad, i skimmed. Also, i feel that MCSG should start veering away from PMC Maps, and stick to maps submitted to MCSG.

(This is just my opinion)
I think that the map committee is a valuable part of the community when it comes to picking maps to be added to the MCSG, but I also think that the people themselves are a great way to see what maps the players want to be implemented into the game. While the map committee has good reasons for adding the maps that they chose, I personally believe it would be great if there were some sort of "half and half line" if you will where maybe the map committee picks a few maps that stand out and the community could vote on if they wanted them or not. (Sort of like what Wronsiski said). This obviously wouldn't be exactly how it worked, but it states the point that I'm trying to get across.
