What are the rules on advertising?

Posts on the following threads were deleted. I've come to the conclusion that the cause was advertising. I know that advertising other servers is against the rules, but I thought that it was only if the specific IP is posted.

In these two threads, mine and a few other player's posts were deleted. All the deleted posts were something along the line of "It's a Hive exclusive". The deleted posts did not give the IP of the Hive or insult MCSG in any way. If the problem is the word "Hive", then I've seen many mods use that specific word, referring to the server.

Could someone please clear this up? Because the rules on advertising are not clear. If the posts were deleted for another reason, could someone tell me?

It's probably because Breeze 2 is exclusive to other communities and there's no use talking about it. Since as of now, we aren't going to get it.

Don't mention the Bees! Rather not single out other communities or blame them, etc.

The threads were not discussing Breeze Island 2's exclusivity; they were merely answering the question presented.

Edit: The developer that closed those two threads was certain to leave out the name of the server in his post, making me believe that the name was the issue. If that's the case, how come other threads that speak of other communities in a negative or neutral tone don't get closed? Those two threads didn't even speak of other communities positively; it was neutral in my opinion.

Ya I wasn't involved in this and wasn't aware Breeze 2 existed until I saw this.

I assume it's because, the conversation would eventually go towards blaming other communities for having it for themselves. And we don't want any bad blood

But nothing was starting in those threads. Players were just helping the thread creator by answering their questions; it was very civil.

Well, I can't speak for the first thread, but it looks like the threads were closed due to the finalized answer being stated. Therefor, because the subject itself is a bit of a touchy one at this point, it was closed since the conversation simply couldn't go anywhere else.

If it was only because the conversation was going no where, and the question in hand was answered, then the posts wouldn't have been deleted. And the name of the other server was carefully avoided.

I don't see why the subject would be touchy. We've all heard of it with SG6 and Teweran SG3; map exclusivity is nothing new.

Edit: Form what I observed, the "finalized answer" was just stating what the deleted posts said, without the name of the community. Then, the developer stated his own opinion on map exclusivity by saying "it hurts everyone". In my opinion, that statement would be extremely debatable.

So us not getting 2 might just cause people to leave rage comments about it.

If the purpose was to stop hate towards other communities, why are threads that talk about said communities negatively not closed?

As I said that was all my assumptions based off the info seen at the time. I can't really give you much more insight on this.
