Yesterday I played a game on Valleyside University in which I somehow managed to take out a stacked team of 4 (!) to send it to deathmatch. Unfortunately I didn't have any golden apples to get my health back quickly, so I went into deathmatch on 7 hearts. To make things worse, I spawned on the podium inbetween the other two players, who were teamed and immediately trained their bows on me. I took the two bow shots which left me at 4 hearts already, and I really couldn't have dodged them because they timed their shots very well. I pulled out all my jukes to try and regen my health but it wasn't enough, and I ended up losing a game I 100% deserved to win
I'm sure many people can sympathise with me here. I don't have a problem with teams because I occasionally team myself (not with randoms though), and I understand that they will always be a part of the game, and that they force me to improve. However, I think that teaming in deathmatch is really overpowered with the current setup. A team can just camp out in some obscure part of the map, taking a chest route at refill to get decent gear and just double team the other guy in deathmatch if they are at all decent at PvP. There are several things that could be changed to help this:
1. Four person deathmatch- this has been suggested many times before, and although it would make teams of 3+ even harder to handle, it could help prevent double teaming.
2. No countdown / very short countdown- This is a less radical change that would prevent randomly agreeing to team in chat, as well as stop the cheap, near-unavoidable bowshot at the start of deathmatch. Players with bad computers would complain that they need time to load the map, but this can be circumvented by changing your render distance to tiny during the countdown, which you usually have a chance to do in my experience.
3. Players start deathmatch spaced equally apart- On a map such as Valleyside where the podiums are very tightly packed and you spawn in between the other players there is a good chance you will take a couple of hits on top of any bow shots as soon as deathmatch starts. I think this is a much better alternative and would result in the better player winning more often.
Please tell me if you agree/disagree, or if this is just wishful thinking
TL;DR tem pls i fan
