Like Angryjukebox said chew gum to help the air pressure in your ears. Other options are to suck a lollipop or put ear plugs in. And remember to put your electronic devices on airplane mode.
And If you plan on trying to sleep, come prepared. Bring a travel pillow or head restraint, and try to avoid using the inflatable ones.
Also if you care about your Heath I would check airlinemeals.net and then find the aircraft you are flying on and see what food they have. Ps if you're lucky they might have potatoes
