Cold War (Help Needed)

Hello inhabitants of the Map Ideas forum. Today I come to you asking for help/feedback on a map idea I recently thought of - recently as in 2 minutes ago. I'm a decent builder, but I completely forgot to terraform and I'm going to need some good builders, terraformers, and redstoners. Anyways, onwards with the idea.

For the map theme, I was thinking back to the Cold War era arms race between the United States and the U.S.S.R. I'd like to do something related to the Mutual Assured Destruction mindsets that both countries had towards each other and make a map where the threats became a reality. I was thinking of the map taking place in an iconic city from the Cold War such as Berlin or Warsaw so that we could include imagery such as the Berlin Wall to add more authenticity into the map.

Anyways, the general theme of the map would be a large city destroyed by nuclear weapons and deserted. It would kind of be like a very slight mix of SG2 and Chernobyl.

So, does anyone see this as a good idea or is this just the true history geek inside of me getting overly excited about the one good idea I had for a map? Also, if you think this is a good idea and want to help out, just PM me or say it on this thread.

For maps, I think one set on a submarine under sea would be really cool if it was big and spacious, or anything underwater themed, kinda like from Bioshock. I know that had nothing to do with this thread but ;/

I would love to see a Berlin-after-doomsday map. That would be really cool to play.

I am decent at terraforming and good at redstone, but I'm pretty miserable at interior. But I don't give away my Skype. If you make a server for this, please PM me the IP, because I'd like to help somehow!

A shot (gunshot, et cetera) was never fired during the Cold War. The Cold War was just a struggle with capitalism after WWII.

The Cold War is the name given to the relationship that developed primarily between the USA and the USSR after World War Two. The Cold War was to dominate international affairs for decades and many major crises occurred – the Cuban Missile Crisis, Vietnam, Hungary and the Berlin Wall being just some. For many, the growth in weapons of mass destruction was the most worrying issue.

Cold War : This term is used to describe the relationship between America and the Soviet Union 1945 to 1980. Neither side ever fought the other – the consequences would be too appalling – but they did ‘fight’ for their beliefs using client states who fought for their beliefs on their behalf e.g. South Vietnam was anticommunist and was supplied by America during the war while North Vietnam was pro-Communist and fought the south (and the Americans) using weapons from communist Russia or communist China. In Afghanistan, the Americans supplied the rebel Afghans after the Soviet Union invaded in 1979 while they never physically involved themselves thus avoiding a direct clash with the Soviet Union.

The idea was to create a world where the Cold War was literally a war, with our map being one of the battlefields.

This thread was made 3 months ago, and due to it, Team Atlas was formed. However, the team was disbanded last Friday due to inactivity, division of work, and lack of work being done. If you'd like to use the idea, ask Braden if you can.

This sounds super cool! I'd definitely love to help. Basically like doomsday Berlin and stuff like that? We could build it like it's during the process, using wool as explosions and stuff like that. Maybe some TNT traps and redstone to make it cool!

To be honest i like the idea but i think mcsg might need a more clean-cut sub urban map (I know mcsg would like it) Because there are already alot of ruins oriented maps. Source: 3 years of mcsg
