The truth about PvP

So, over the years (yes years) people have debated who the best PvPer is, and saying players are better then others and stuff. I'm just going to put it out there that there is no answer. In some video games there might be, but to be honest, PvP is such a small aspect in Minecraft that it isn't very hard to be decent at it. Use sports as an example, it would be like saying someone is the best passer, which is absurd to even think, but nonetheless people say certain players are the best and believe it. This also causes pointless things like videos where someone will 1v1 Huahwi and make a big deal about it. Another big part about PvP is luck, there is a huge amount of luck in fights (sometimes ping, but usually other things). As is, PvPing in minecraft isn't very hard, and people make a bigger deal about winning fights against high ranked players then they should. Most high ranked players aren't up there because they are the best at PvP, but more the best at strategy. We can all agree that Gravey4rd isn't the best PvPer (he is really good though). He is at his rank because skilled at PvP, but he also has put a lot of time into the game, and is a very strategic player. I'm the same way as well, and so are a lot of other high rank players. Basically my point is, 1v1s mean nothing, and debates about who is the best is pointless. What really makes a player is their sportsmanship, without sportsmanship, you don't even deserve to be ranked.

Thanks for wasting your time reading my post.

Good point.
When people 1v1 their friends, they don't think "Oh, I won, I'm the better PvPer." They think, "Good fight, but I'm not that good." When fighting a popular player, it's the same way, people just don't realize it.

Is it considered a waste of time if I enjoyed reading your post? I don't believe so.

Anyway, I completely agree with this, and it the "Real world" it's actually like this. Players can be banned for playing a certain amount of time/games when they don't show good sportsmanship.

Also I'd like to add, I'm not against 1v1s, but they should be for respect, not to prove anything.

While this it may be true that it isn't hard to be "decent" at PvP, there is still a huge difference between being "decent" and "good". For instance, PvPers like Stimpay and Dualzz are simply levels above the skill of most of the respected players in this community.

Could you explain this statement? Because from what I can see, assuming that both players connection is relatively stable, there is little luck involved in fights.

Pretty sure you're the who goes in threads like "Who have you beat?" and then list all the top 25 leaderboard players even if it's untrue.
Yeah sorry I did that when I was a salty cocky kid who thought he was better then everyone, people change.

I mean in general, you can get lucky combos. I've seen people win fights by just running in with a sword against a player using secondaries, and win because he got this ridiculous combo for some reason. Although I do agree not all PvP is luck, there is a bit of a luck aspect to it. It's sort of opinion based I guess, that's just what I got from my experience. I respect your opinion though.

Maybe there is, but It wasn't hard to get in the top 10 without much skill.
Really? Because I haven't been in the top 10 ever... (Ive been pretty close) im just saying stratz are apart of PVP I don't feel there 2 different things. Then again why does it matter? All this game is now is either who can DDOS,Dox, or very rarely swat you first or make you feel like Good till you start to believe your worthless.

TRUE LOL, and I do separate PvP and Strategy because in some gamemodes it's either one or the other.
