Hello tributes!
A lot of hackers have been banned in the recent weeks due to the efforts of the EU Cleansweep! We've had many community and staff participants coming together and eliminating hackers one by one! Although week 1 has been successful, we still have a lot of work to get done in the coming weeks.

In previous operations, this has proven to be a successful option in eliminating hackers from the EU network; however, we are still looking into ways to make the operation even more successful. If you have any ideas for the Cleansweep, please PM me, AlpakaWhacker, Col_StaR, Liam, and/or Nephilim. In order to catch more hackers, we organize 2 hour cleansweeps during the peak times in the EU network. The times will be listed below.

Times & Dates:
(All times are GMT)
Sunday: 3PM-5PM & 8PM-10PM
Monday: 7PM-9PM
Wednesday: 8PM-10PM
Friday: 6PM-8PM
Saturday: 3PM-8PM & 8PM-10PM (7PM-9PM on meeting days)
If you have any suggestions on time, please comment down below, or DM me, AlpakaWhacker, Col_StaR, and/or Nephilim.

This Week's Stats
148 participants.
48 of those were community members.
100 of those were staff members.
18 hours of sweeps.
192 hackers were banned.
48 of those bans were permanent.
144 of those were 1 week.
An average of 21.34 bans were made each session.
34 of those were found and recorded by members of the community.

What can you do?
In previous Cleansweeps, we have had many community members come onto TeamSpeak and assist us in making hacking bans. We do appreciate this. In order to help, log onto the TeamSpeak (ts.MCGamer.net) during the scheduled times. Then, poke a staff member in the channel. Before beginning, you must be aware of this:
By joining the EU Cleansweep, you agree that you will actively participate in catching hackers on the EU network and that you will not be found breaking any of the MCGamer rules which can be found at http://mcgamer.info.
After you are aware of that, you can begin going server to server recording and reporting hackers to the staff in the channel. Please note that you will have to be able to record in order to participate. If you cannot record, you can still report hackers by poking staff about them.

Can't get on TeamSpeak? That's fine. You can still help out by recording and reporting hackers at http://report.mcgamer.info. These reports are a huge help to both the network and the staff team.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Will the Cleansweep ever end?
Answer: The operation will continue as long as it is needed. If there is ever a point when the amount of
hackers on EU is low, it may end, but it will start as soon as the hacker problem is present again.

Question: Do I have to talk?
Answer: No, you don't have to talk, but you can if you'd like.

Question: Do I have to record?
Answer: Yes, we are only allowing those who can record to join; however, if you want to help out, you can still message us people you suspect are hacking.

Question: Is there a US or AU Cleansweep?
Answer: Don't worry, the other regions will not be neglected. Currently, the staff are testing other solutions for each region.

Question: Why do you post all the times when hackers can see it?
Answer: Most hackers will not check the forums, and won't even know that we are there. In addition, we do impromptu Cleansweeps as well.

Please be sure to thanks Miner9823, Purge, Yoshiplaysgames, gustyy, YourAverageTiger, JLioner, Jaan, and tyle059 for recording and reporting hackers during the Cleansweep!

Have a wonderful week!
~MCGamer Staff, EU Cleansweep Team

Scott the biggest type of hacker i personally have come across is anti-knockback, also moderators in cleansweep say they are "on the way" but by that point it is Dm and the guy/girl has cheated their way to victory :L. Its not just at peak times too. This morning I was killed in every other round by an anti-knock backer.

It would be good if there was secondary clean sweeps, not just at peak times.

Also one other thing that bothers me, During clean sweep me and a mate of mine went hacker hunting and between us found 40-50 hackers and reported. We were told "they have been dealt with" On NUMEROUS occasions I found them in a round later that day 6-8hrs later, continuing to hack and cheat, Whats with that? :L

One final idea from me, the hackers seem to circulate around specific maps, Eg. there are less hackers on a map of lets say, Remnant as there are on Demon's Breeze, Solar frost, or Adrenaline. I don't know why, but I guess there is a pattern. What are your thoughts on this?

P.S nice job catching so many though :p

If we cannot catch a hacker, then we normally follow them; however, it is possible that they disconnect. Also, we do impromptu Cleansweeps during non-peak times as well.

Regarding not having someone banned, it is possible that the moderator reviewed the evidence and it wasn't sufficient. It is also possible that they weren't hacking like you thought.

Finally, yes it is true that specific hacks are used on maps; however, the map choice isn't keeping hackers from hacking. For example, a water walking hacker might hack on Breeze Island, but it doesn't mean the same user won't hack on Holiday Resort.

The statistics so far seem incredible within the span of a week. I continue to strive to help and exceed those statistics in the future, the cleansweeps are always such a joy to participate in. :D
