The time has come. MCSG has gotten boring. I will know tell my somewhat long journey about how I got into this community. However, this won't be a Lovelights-esque story of drama and deceit and whatever. It will be a common story, maybe similar to how you got into MCSG. Anyways, let us begin.
It all started in late-2011 and early-2012, when some of my friends told me about this game Minecraft and how it was so cool and all that. At that point in time, I had a bad PC that my family shared and a Wii so you can tell I was a hardcore gamer. Even though at that time I had never seen gameplay of MC or played it, I decided I hated it, not sure why. Eventually, I decided to try out some super old beta version in creative mode that was a free trial which wasn't fun and didn't run well at -5 fps. However, that wasn't the end of my MC, as about a few months later over the summer of 2012 I saw a youtuber that I watched (CACox97, he used to upload Nerf stuff) upload a Hunger Games game on the 360 with his friends. It seemed so cool! Before that, I had seen some Roosterteeth MC videos that my friend recommended that turned out to be hilarious, which further enticed me to the game. After a few months, I begged my parents to get me this game and with the help of my little brother (he was also getting into MC) we got it, November 2012. At that time, I played a server that I won't say because of fear of advertisement that was a towny server with something called a mob arena, which was an arena with waves and different mobs that spawn in after you choose a kit. I have looked for something as good as that mob arena but have never found one since, sadly. I played that server for a few months but during my time on the server my little brother found this server called MCSG; until then I had been googling "minecraft hunger games servers" and kept finding trash until now. This server was, in my eyes, professional. It had stats, points, and multiple servers! What could be better? Although I hadn't fully devoted my time to it yet, I started playing MCSG a lot. The servers come and go but MCSG was here to stay. Eventually, I made a skype to play with my IRL friends. Over the summer of 2013, we launched up a survival server through Hamachi and it was the best. I won't talk about that because, well, you understand. Eventually, after hours invested into the server, the host opened it in creative mode and TNT. That's the end of that chapter *sniffle. During this time, when not playing survival, I played MCSG with my friends, which is some of the best memories I've had on Minecraft. This went on for a few more months until I started becoming much better than my friends and they started getting bored. I was playing a lot, less and less with them as time went by. Eventually, I don't remember how, but I found SG clans and I applied for some (late 2013/early 2014). What I didn't know was that it was a Hive clan on Hive Forums, I didn't really see the obvious difference between Hive and MCSG forums for some reason. I got no response so I stuck with my friends. Right before summer 2014 started, May or so, I decided to apply for an MCSG clan. My stats were 157/1057 and I applied for fusionnuggets clan called The Haunted. To this day, the best clan I have ever known. The week that I applied, I was busy and afraid I wouldn't get accepted but he still accepted me. I became a trial and, for the first time ever, joined a full skype chat of people I didn't know: Sarju77, lukahickey321, Julzberry, ThatFuryFellow, mikeydrox, Panda_Plays, xRefuge, killerhero2000, fusionnuggets, yogibear5000, ToastySoldier, and of course, RetronixMC. This was the core of the clan when I got accepted May 9th, 2014, some of the best online friends I have ever made. People came and left the clan but this was the core. After a few months, The Haunted entered Shan's Top Clan tourney, our first one as a group. At that time, we got a major addition to the clan: SpandexMonkeyPKC. With the voice of a god and the skill of one, we knew we were going to win. Until the bracket came out. We had to play Inferno, a clan with a 400+ win requirement! (we were 150 at the time). Every prediction (except for 1, I believe) thought we would lose. Of course we would, we were total randies! We had almost nobody half-decent. Lies. All lies. We beat them 6:0 (it was 8v8) and we were the best underdogs ever! Our teamwork was impeccable and the video is actually on YT if you want to find it. After that, our clan was taken more seriously and we were getting some better members. Artofpvp disbanded and we got some of their really good members. However, ThatFuryFellow and I didn't like how our clan was losing that family feel and turning really competitive so we left and made our own clan, Summoned. With a cool name and a cool idea, we thought we were set. Little did I know I was making one of the biggest mistakes of my MC career... I was in Summoned for 1 night and during that night, some key people from a clan you might know as Protocol currently joined. After Fury and I left, The Haunted disbanded. We had such good people but that stupid mistake ruined any chance of becoming big. The friends of The Haunted maintained a good connection and still Skype chatted. Eventually, we re-banded as Haunted. The rest of the clan experience can't really be explained unless you were there, so fast forward from Haunted to Vigilant (we beat Trivium 5-4 in a CB!!! Then the day after we disbanded -_-) to Vayex to present-day Haunted v3. Fury has gone to league, so I have't talked to him in a while. One thing I almost forgot: Ascendancy. During that clan, I decided to join because I was sick of Fusion's ways of leading and I wanted to try something new. So for the 2nd time ever, I joined a clan chat with nobody (except Nanos and Hoho I think) filled in. I made some good friends, mainly Ranger_zZ and justinrichard123. Juggernautgames I didn't really know too well. Over the past few weeks (present-day, time scale has been kind of weird, sorry) I have been growing tired of MC. As MCSG is the only thing I really play, there is nothing else for me to do. MCSG has turned into tryhards, hackers, and teamers, and my skill level has gone down during all of this. Winning solo is almost impossible for me and whenever I died I got really angry. So instead of wasting my time, I'm moving on. Thanks for reading.
Honorable mentions:
Mooseski13: Breeze Island Betrayal, all I'm gonna say
Nujaan
wabzter: mah boy User
Freenzyy or however you spell it
Trivium: I applied for their clan and was in their TS for over 3 weeks as an applicant during the CS:GO plague, bad timing. Here I met B1gtubby tub and Slavtherussian, who I had been watching for some time before this. Ruski chuvak!
Hoho: I still laugh when thinking about the way you said eZ when you 1-shot cleaned me up on Ironwolf
ToastySoldier: One of the coolest cats I've met on mcsg
Aurorav2: You were one of the only active members of trivium when I was an applicant, just a cool guy in general
Mikeydrox: there since the beginning bud, always thought your name was one word lol
Sarju77: one of my best online friends, thanks for all the memories.
Fusionnuggets: The start of all this. Thanks buddy.
After over half an hour of writing, that's pretty much it. Sorry for making it so long. Farewell. BTW, I'm still planning on participating in Deception Games 2 if you somehow see this nine. I'll probably hop on from time to time.
