I think everyone's overreacting tbh. Yeah it's deadly and all but I think a cure will be found before it can evolve any further

I predict in the next five weeks hazmat suits are going to be an every day thing you could by in stores ;) . But seriously I think the gov. is trying to contain it but also they are hiding it. Not trying to scare anyone also but it is most likely going to start spreading but not as bad as Africa. In Africa they don't have houses like ours that can keep them safe so as long as you don't go smooching with a girl/guy infected in the US then I think your good ;)

Do you think the government might be lying about it only being transmitted through certain things, just to make sure everyone is calm?
No. The government wouldn't lie to keep people calm about something that we have known about since 1976. Besides, blatantly lying to your own people doesn't work in the age of the internet. People can just do some research or pay attention to a country other than their own.
  • Do you think it could turn into a world-wide plague?
Probably not, but it's good to be safe. There have been 34 instances of ebola outbreaks throughout history, starting in 1976. Many only affected a couple of people. Other instances affected no people, but rather, monkeys. Unfortunately, the current instance is by far the largest. There are currently about 2,000 people with the virus disease, (and roughly another 2,000 who have already died) in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea, as well as one isolated case in Dakar, Senegal and another singular case in Dallas, Texas. Of course, the virus disease takes 21 days to show symptoms after infection, so there could be more than we think. The disease has occurred in five separate strains throughout history, so it is possible that it could mutate, but that doesn't mean it will. The current strain has a 49% survival rate with our current medical and hygiene practices, (which is pretty good considering that this is happening in some of the poorest countries in the world, with help from other countries) so it is not killing everything in its path.

Hopefully the disease comes to an end soon, or we come up with a cure. However, the virus disease has stumped mankind for the past 38 years, so it's not optimistic. People with the best chance of surviving the virus disease are teenagers and young/middle aged adults. The disease virus can be fought off like a cold, if a person is properly hydrated, gets plenty of rest, and has some luck.
Do you think it is airborne? (Related to question 1)
No. Health officials and scientists have blatantly stated over and over that it is not airborne, but is contracted by body fluids and by skin contact. There is no room for opinion or conspiracy here. If the disease was airborne, a lot more people would have it. If it mutated to become airborne, it would probably have entirely different symptoms, less related to the bloodstream and destruction of internal organs.

Government's probably lying about "certain things"
Yes
Could be like Anthrax in the first CHERUB book, they tried to kill people by filtering it through the air conditioning, but who knows.

There is no way the government is lying about such a global thing, with so many scientists working on it. If they lied, some other scientist would prove them lying. You can't get away with lying on a topic of this scale. Ebola would last in long in the modern world. It just thrives in 3rd world countries, where people aren't educated about what's going on. I have no problem with people getting treated in the US. They are risking their lives to help others in need, they deserve world class treatment, which is found in the US. The CDC is very careful that it doesn't leave the hospital. Of course their is a risk, but the risk is like the odds of winning the lottery. It would be like saying we should kill all birds in the US, because they might pass on to us another deadly virus. (lots of bad stuff evolves in animals like birds first, and then makes its way to humans) For example: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=axlmGLLc9Too
