Pc help

Ok so I built my PC and I know how install most everything. The one thing I have never installed is an ssd. So before I go blow my money I was hopping someone could tell me how easy or hard it is. Is it as simple as plugging in power and sata then just booting the PC up? Or do I have to boot up my PC find the drive and install windows to it? I'm kind of lost any help would be great. Thanks

Odd, I haven't heard of an SSD before. I guess I need to search a little bit on that, but hopefully it is as easy as plugging in a wire and bam, everything works out. I do wish you the best of luck on the setup! Send some photos if you're willing to! :3

Yeah just plug in sata power and connector and mount it. When you put the windows disc/USB in, just make sure the drive chosen to install on is the SSD

Ok do u no what to be looking for? Im assuming the pc will turn on like it usually does and I just put the windows disc in go through the setup but then what? Will it show a second drive after I put the disc in?


Edit: Can I just re-plug in my hdd after the install and everything should still be there?

OK, to install windows you want to put in your Windows disc, then go into the BIOS settings and select to boot from the CD drive. This makes the Windows disc run off startup. After you've opened the Windows installer, select the SSD as the disc you want to write to. Easy as that.

And yes, all you do is mount it and plug in the sata and the connector, just the same as a HDD.

If you unplug your hard drive and plug it back in your files should be fine, providing your computer was off when you pulled it out.

An SSD is a solid state drive. It runs better and lasts longer than a normal HDD, however they are madly expensive but it is 100% worth it.
