Dear MCSG'ers,

I've been 'struggling' recently ;p because of a hard decision I've got to make.
There're basically 3 things I can 'choose from', I'll tell you the story now.

So yeah, when Summer ended I wasn't like allowed to play Minecraft anymore (school you know.. Minecraft leads me a bit too much off :c) and of course I hated that. As you can tell as I'm writing this I'm still not allowed to play it. But sometimes I played in secret, in 'small screen' of course.. :C
Minecraft is just the game for me, I like it a lot and I think I'm a good player, so yeah I really hate that I can't really play it anymore..
Also, I've got a Youtube Channel with around 150 subs, I won't be able to upload there anymore now, I've been uploading some old recordings / recordings 'in secret' xdxdxdxd

Like 2 weeks ago I bought CS:GO, and in the beginning I really liked the game and stuff, but I played Casual, and everyone was better than me of course, which annoyed me a lot.
So I talked to some friends at school, and they said I should go play Competitive, so I started doing that a week ago.

But I find the Competitive games last waaay too long, and it's always the same you know.. so yeah it's not 'the best' to me actually..

Now I have a decision to make:

- School + NO GAMES (Focus completely on school (= bit boring :c))
- School + Minecraft (In secret? idek)
- School + CS:GO (which has been annoying me a bit lately)

Do you guys have any advices maybe?

I know the thread idea is maybe a bit 'dumb', but I really like the Forums and I hope someone can help me :D
Also, sorry for the bad Grammar, I'm Dutch xD

I am not allowed to play during the weekdays, but my mom puts all my gaming equipment in a backpack and hides it because she says "You won't get off when I ask you too!", yet I do.

Anyways, do whatever you want.

I honestly think you should be responsible and make this decision for yourself.

However, if I were in your position, I would strictly focus on school.

if you want what i would do, and what the obvious best choice is, then go for school with no games. that's what i do for the most part anyway.

To be honest I would say either do CS:GO or just focus on real life stuff. Hiding stuff from your family can cause a lot of stress. Also, since you're in your teenage years, you should go and explore new things, whether it be games or new friends, etc... You might find that focusing on school, xtracurricular activities and meeting new people IRL can make you very happy.

Would you rather get caught and have no Minecraft at all, or focus on school and play as much as you want on breaks? Personally, if you want to be a responsible human being, choose no games during school.

My advice would be the "School + No Games" option. I have been noticing this myself the past few weeks and games like Minecraft and probably CS:GO (although I do not play it) can be really, really addictive; like you stated. Therefore, they might keep you away from doing your homework or even from your f(r)amily.

Now you have 2 options I would say. The first one is to try and divide your time between school and playing games. But remember, school is top priority. The more you work your butt of for school now, the brighter your future will be. If you study hard, you will most likely get good degrees and an excellent diploma.

But back on topic, try to find a balance between these two elements. This is how I do it: I come home from school and I start working on my homework. I check the forums from time to time in between, but not too much so that it doesn't distract me from doing my work (for school). Once I am completely finished, I go ham on the servers and fulfill my duties for the network.

However, if you can't seem to find this balance, I really recommend you to take a break from playing Minecraft or any game in general. School and the work you do for it is a really big factor in life. A game like minecraft can just fade away like it came.

Also, regarding the family part, remember to spend time with your friends and family. You need it and they need it as well. I used to almost never see them anymore during regular school days due to the fact that I studied and played upstairs in my room the whole time. Now, I often go downstairs and just "hang out" with them you could say. Even if I have to watch a cheesy soap that my mother loves so much... ;)

TL;DR. Try to find a balance between school and playing games, and if that doesn't work out, take a break from the game playing part. And in addition, always keep in mind what the most important things are for you in life and fulfill them with everything you've got. :)

You can make time for school and video games if you know how to balance it :D
