Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this.

Hello MCSG, my name is EpicRhubarb. I have been on these forums for over a year now and it has come to my attention that I have NEVER written an introduction… So as my 200th post here is my Introduction:

My name is Matt and I’ve been playing on MCSG for about 2 years now and about a year into MCSG Kootis introduced me to the forums. I am a 13 year old programmer and gamer. I love playing video games, programming and making YouTube videos. Here are a list of the programming languages that I currently know, learning or some I wish to know in the future.

Programming Languages that I know:
  • HTML

  • CSS

  • A little bit of Python
Programming Languages that I’m learning:

  • Python

Programming Languages I want to know in the future:

  • JavaScript

  • jQuery

  • PHP

  • Java

  • ..and some more (I guess)

Now before I finish this introduction I would like to thank ONE special person who got me interested in MCSG.

Kootis you've been my friend since 2012 and you got me interested in MCSG and we always skype and play. Thank you for showing me MCSG. :p

Thanks for reading my small introduction/a little bit about me.

Hey Matt! Welcome to MCGamer!

It's great to see that you already have an interest in programming. It's a great field that has a lot of options. It's why I chose to major in it after all.

Prior to entering high school, I already had an idea that I wanted to do something in the field of Computer Science. If I had to give you one friendly piece of advice, it would be to continue to explore your options and not limit yourself to being solely a software programmer or a web designer. I encourage you to explore different subjects and test the waters for unexpected fields that you might enjoy. When it comes to employment, a company is more likely to choose you if your qualifications benefit them in multiple ways over someone who has only one qualification (truthfully, this is thinking far beyond your years, but it's always a good thought to keep in the back of your mind).

As well, don't concentrate on learning as many languages as you possibly can. Truthfully, while it feels great to be able to list off a plethora of languages that you understand, what is far more important (especially in computer programming) is having the ability to understand different concepts and apply them to a particular project. When it comes down to it, you can learn any programming language given time and a documentation manual - making something work correctly, effectively and understanding how and why different things interact is what matters.

As for MCGamer, you've just entered an awesome community here on the forums. So enjoy your time here - you won't be disappointed!

In 5 years he'll be able to. :)
Yeah, not to mention other prerequisites like 3 years of Java experience and an NDA contract.
As for these posts, it's also good to note that these are soft requirements. In general, they're looking for people who understand what they're doing and work well both alone and as a team.

And an NDA isn't really "age-restricted" because (assuming there is an agreement between both parties) a legal guardian can sign on your behalf if you're under the age of 18. After all, Forairan is only 16.
