Is MCSG going downhill?

You and Northy was the reason I made this thread. After that discussion in the server, thought I would hear everyone's opinions.

Personally I think the servers themselves aren't going downhill, but rather the community itself. As mentioned above, people have lives to live, things to do etc. But also something I have noticed recently on the AU servers (not sure about US or EU) is that majority of the people left playing, only care about winning and will do whatever it takes to win, which in some cases people will even resort to hacking. Thats why you notice that a lot of the top AU players such as Mutated_Penguin, Plonize, AssassinRazor etc. have stopped playing 24/7 or at all in some cases because the community has taken the fun out of the game. Its a bit like what has happened to COD and Halo. People stopped caring about fun and started caring about the stats and wins which made the overall feel of the game bad. It happens to all the greats in gaming. As I said, not sure about US or EU as I dont play on those servers much.

i must admit the community is getting worse by every minute, i almost quited this cause i got too tired of trying to get hight stats and only getting called hacker, no compliments or anything, the only thing i heard was "teovald is hacking"

I've been playing MCSG for 7 months, We've watched the community slowly die, Its sad :l

I do have to admit, the community for me, especially recently, has been going a bit downhill...I've been called a hacker and been recorded after they formed an entire squad whose only purpose was to kill me in one game...but that's nothing. I've been seeing more and more players with high scores/donor ranks just going around calling every single bit of competition a hacker and not stopping just to make them leave because they only care about the wins...it's really bugging me.

I too have to admit that I care about my stats. I like to have lots of wins/high points, (I'm on a losing streak right now, high points might be a while. :|) but I wouldn't go to such measures as to eliminate the competition and harass them for the sake of a single win on my records. In fact, I'm also really happy to find that egrodo, sixzoseven, zeejayy, or anyone of the like in a game I'm playing - I enjoy a challenge, I don't feel I should be as high as I am on the leaderboards until I've successfully gotten better than people like them. I'm not a complete jerk and do hurtful things for the sake of stats, I instead embrace a challenge and use that as a time to observe what I'm doing wrong so I can get better. The only time you don't want to be talking to me is when I've lost like 30 games in a row. (it happens sometimes...for some odd reason, I tend to go from a losing streak, to a winning streak, to a losing streak...it goes on endlessly, it's gone this way for me since I joined.)

I don't think it's going downhill... School started and people have lives. MCSG will never fall apart, when people leave and don't return, more people come to take there place. It's a steady balance.

I swear if i got a dollar for every time someone called me a hacker and i didnt get banned i'd be a millionaire by now XD
