Is it skill that brings them there? For some, yes. But let me tell you this. I'm ranked ~10,000 and making my way lower and lower pretty quick as of lately. I never team. My name says it all.
But I'm not here to talk about myself. I have been recently running into teams of 3+. It's ridiculous. Teaming alone is pathetic enough. Having fun with friends is fine, but don't do more than 4 games as a team...you can fight each other in the hunger games to make it more fun, actually.
I've been looking at the stats of players who team, and the ones who survive the most have been ranked 3000 and under. This team of 3 took me on in demon's breeze. They weren't very good, either. All of them were ranked under 300. We all had the same stuff, so they just outnumbered me. I out-sniped the 2nd, and the 3rd got me from when I was super low -_-
They weren't nearly as good as your average noob with a steve skin. They were awful, yet they kept teaming to win. Something needs to be done.
*IMPORTANT* Don't go along saying get more skill or find better tactics scrub. While you can progress, they can too. No matter how skilled you are, as long as they are almost as skilled as you, they can always win. Always. Why? The numbers in teammates. It's annoying when you KNOW you're better yet you can't win because of a team.
Think about it. There's a team of two. You know how to deal with scrubs like them. What do you do? Well, use your tactics of course! But they are also smart, and know what to do too. 2v1. People slightly worse than you, but still able to kill you. While you may get one down, the other will still get you. It's cheap.
In conclusion, there needs to be a limit. No more than 2 for a team is what I'd love, but 3 is probably what would get implemented and enforced. I still find teams to be unfair. I'm a competitive player, and I feel as if there is a n00by tactic, I can't use it because it requires no skill. There's no "good feel" when I win yet teamed.
