Hey guys, I am Miko and I present you my first MCSG guide. This guide will be purely about the Dos and Don'ts when taking on a team. These have been written in no particular order, number two may not be necessarily more important than ten. So read them all.
Also, if you have any queries/questions on what to do in a certain situation, ask me and I will add them to the thread as a "Q&A Subsection". Without further ado, lets get onto the tips.
1. First and foremost, never and I mean never do you rush a team as soon you notice them. Assess your chances first. Compare their armour, weapon, and additional factors such as if they possess bows, flint and steels if possible. However the most important factor, is always visible. That factor being armour. However that does not mean rush in with your fists because they have no armour, I always recommend having at least a Stone Sword when taking on teams unless you are sure they have a weak/no weapon(s).
2. When taking on a team, focus on one person. Whether it's a team of two or a team of five. Once you get one low, the player is most likely to back up, leaving his team mate isolated. Then it will turn into a 1v1.
3. When you see the team has just been engaged in combat, it is your best chance. They most likely took damage, and when they are going through the loot/organising their inventory, it is the best time to strike as that's when you are most likely to sneak up on them.
4. If you're low, running isn't always the best solution. Don't show that you're low. If you get all of the opponents low, you have a 50/50 chance that they will back up. Giving you ground as well as the ability to regenerate.
5. Use a range of items. These being: flint and steels, fishing rods and bows. If you only use Swords, it will solely depend on gear and ping. You can never be 100% sure if you will or will not take out someone.
6. Be unpredictable, if someone can predict your next move, then they can easily avoid it. If they do avoid it, then you will lose precious seconds and in most circumstances lose hearts for nothing. Do what's unexpected and predict the unpredictable.
7. Do not take on a team without what I like to call "Utility Weapons". These being primarily bows, flint and steels and a fishing rod if you can use one. If the team have somewhat decent gear, then if they are smart enough to rush you, you have a 50/50 chance of dying. We want to decrease that chance to as little as possible.
8. If you have a bow and some arrows, use them. The lower you get the team before engaging in hand-to-hand combat, the better. Don't have arrows? Collect their arrows. Don't have a bow? Hide behind a wall, when they come close, use a flint and steel. Don't have any of these? Then you shouldn't be engaging in the first place.
9. Don't use Weapons you don't know how to use effectively. If you're going burn yourself with a flint and steel then don't use it. You cannot land a bow shot to save your life? Don't donate free arrows. All these backfire, however that is not to say that you cannot learn to use them. Practise is the way to go.
10. Try stay at range. If you are close to death, it will much easier to escape and/or heal up. However this does not mean that you shouldn't rush when they're low.
11. When pursuing, do not run in a predictable pattern. If you can, run on a half slab or any so called "transparent" block. This is because you can easily be set on fire or shot; which may lead you into being pursuit-ed. Think of it like cat and mouse. The cat being the user with more gear/more hearts. I would say a solid 90% of the time when having somewhat similar gear to the team, you will be the mouse. When running, you get given the perfect opportunity to use utility weapons, primarily a flint and steel.

If you have more suggestions, post them in the reply section and I will happily add them to the thread if I find them helpful.A place high up where you can hit them off easily, and they fall to their death.
Example: Top of library on Valleyside, light the iron bars on far, they can't see it. They'll walk on it and you can hit them off and they will most likely die.
