Hi!

I decided to create a thread for you guys to showcase any poems that you've written. The format or style doesn't matter, just share your creativity!

I'll start with one I wrote earlier today, in the car:

A letter to myself,

I am the forgotten
I am ability never begotten
I am the inferior
I am a face with no interior

I ceased to be recognized
Easily unnoticed by passerbys
The limelight is never mine
Never given the opportunity to shine

Underneath a canopy of lies
Where my veritable secrets reside
An aura of darkness and dismay
I am solely portrayed this way

I've somehow made it all this way
Alienated from the world I stray
Only one of my companions remain
Ceases to depart through the darkest disdain

You're all that I have...

This is about a kid in my class..

James walked out of the room sweaty and hot. He says he was at gym but I think not.

Maybe he was out, chasing a bunny, or catching some shade while the weathers real sunny.

But eventually he came back to school, probably wishing there was a pool.

Now he's here running along, but he had to run back because he was out to long.

Im not a big fan of poetry but I liked your's a lot! How did you come up with it?

I love poetry. I am currently in the process of reading and analyzing "Tamerlane" by Edgar Allan Poe and writing an epic of my own. I've written many before, but I will leave only one here. I might post more as they are completed.

I stand amid the deafening roar,

of reality and the nightly shore.

The foundation of life is the second, or latter,

The world can be changed through the mind or the matter.


But alas, here I stand, not much of either.

My soul will soon flow to the heavenly ether.

My regret or one wish, would be to have lived,

Or spent some more time, inside happiness.


And through this sable mirror, I bestow a gaze.

I view my reflection, face older than age.

And through my burnt eyes, you perceive my soul.

It's shattered and ancient, archaic and old.


The last stanza is cliche, I know, but bare with me here. I wrote it in a day.

I wrote this one poem about half a decade ago to a crush I had in Wisconsin. I even wrote a musical accompaniment on piano (which I created playing by ear).

This girl I met is someone new
Her favorite colors are green and blue
My cloak, Grim's wand, and Magyk's stone*,
Have always been the Hallows known.

Her hair so blonde; thine eyes so blue
It's just us Hallows: me and you
I think of you every day
Mika*la **** is the best I say**




*Reference to each of the three items in the original Hallow siblings' arsenal: Elder Wand, Resurrection [Sorcerer's] Stone, and Invisibility Cloak
**Name partially hidden to protect the innocent
