Update:
APRIL FOOLS!
APRIL FOOLS!
Hello all!
We've made a few updates tonight. Some of these updates have taken effect right away, but some others will activate at midnight CDT tonight (about an hour from this post).
Quick Join
Introducing an easier way to join servers! If you want to just join a server, but you don't really care about which server, you'll notice new Quick Join signs in the the server area of the hub. Just right-click a quick join sign for the slot size you want to join, and you'll automatically be joined to a random server of that slot size - magic!
A ... fishy update?
After hearing out some community suggestions to add more food into our chests, we decided to add more food in the best form possible. Introducing swordfish! All swords you can find in chests or craft will now automatically turn into a different form of fish, allowing you to eat your sword if times get tough! Don't worry, these fish will still do the same amount of damage as the sword you've crafted.
Holograms!
We've abused a bit of a bug in 1.7 to add some handy (and cool) holograms into the hubs. These may cause lag for some people, so you can turn off holograms by typing /holograms off. UPDATE as of 7:16 AM: Holograms have been disabled by default, as they are causing client crashes for some people. To enable them, type /holograms on. If you find yourself crashing after enabling them, you can direct connect to a SG server (i.e. us1.mcsg.in) and type /holograms off.
Return of the Explodiums!
Around this time last year, we added explodiums (or exploding podiums) into our main MCSG offering. We've decided to bring it back for a bit of nostalgia. Long story short, don't step off your podium in pregame, or you may find yourself with a slight case of not being alive!
Improved /disguise command!
We've improved the /disguise command based on community feedback. First off, the names generated by the command are now much more random than they used to be. Secondly, we've fixed the ever-so-annoying tab completion bug (where people could still tab complete your real name, even while disguised). You can also now disguise in the hub, and this carries over to any servers you join.
Lay an egg!
We're having a bit of a chicken shortage around here at MCGamer, so we've found a very realistic way to solve that: just have our players lay eggs! Whenever you crouch in-game, you'll find yourself laying an egg. Don't worry, it's a painless process, and the thought of creating baby chickens by doing virtually no work at all will have you bawking!
More fancy chat text!
Have you ever gotten bored of the same old white chat text? We have too! To remedy this issue, we've made chat text a bit ... fancier. Italicized hot pink text 'ought to be enough to make anyone read!
Inverted hub jump pads!
Have you ever wanted to go the wrong direction in the hub when you step on a jump pad? Yes? Well, we have just the solution for you! Stepping on a jump pad will now take you the complete opposite direction. Don't worry, it's exercise!
We hope you enjoy these updates, as we've put quite a bit of time into each of them.
Devin out!
