Longer Posts Don't Always Mean Better Posts

This is something I've been noticing on these forums every now and then, and I just felt like taking a minute to point it out real quick.

When it comes to these forums, there's 3 kinds of posters.
1: People who are brand new, usually only make like 4 or 5 posts, and then are off the forums.
2: Casual posters who tend to post a lot on things like forum games and don't always construct opinions that well.
3: "Experienced" posters who post big long posts that are well constructed.

The reason I quoted "experienced" was because sometimes you see people who make long, giant posts when they really don't need to be. The way they see it sometimes, the longer the better. This isn't always true.

All I'm saying is, longer posts can be nice because they cover everything, but sometimes they go beyond what they need to and they just get boring or repetitive. If you're making a long post, just use my chemistry teacher's logic on science papers. "It's like dresses: have it short enough to keep it interesting, long enough to cover the subject."

If you have a solid idea that you want to express, try and condense. You'll get more people to read it (I read any post if it's in some kind of debate, but more than often you'll see a tl;dr)

I tend to be fairly concise when I post. Everyone has a different style and niche.

Like that chemistry teacher line though.

Most of my posts are short and to the point, unless the thread talks about a serious topic.

Some people do make posts that can be too long, but I typically don't see them around too much. (Unless they're the original posts in threads, some of those go way overboard with points that can just be shortened to the small points. Mainly guides are victims to this.)

Oh, and I like your chemistry teacher.

Well, the point of long messages is to intrigue the reader, make them want to read it. But then TL;DR came along and ruined everything :(
