Does anyone think CubedHost is a bad server provider? If so, should MCSG get a new one?

Personally, I think CubedHost is bad. The lag is tremendous and terrible . I have died sooo many times due to lag.

Also mcsg's devs work for cubedhost
forairan, subv3rsion and dv90 I believe
A bit of a necro, maybe, but I have to comment.
Yes, the developers you mentioned are a part of CubedHost. In fact, dv90 and subv3rsion are the owners and I, myself, am being trained for the sales department.

Anywho, I'm glad that there are not bad comments on this thread. If you have a problem with a hosting service, you should contact the host... but I do know that since I pointed this thread out to subv3rsion, he's making a reply as well. So, I shall end my rant here. ^_^

Just was linked this by a wild nub that managed to find this.

Correction; dv90 and subv3rsion (myself) own CubedHost. Forairan/Devin is one of our employees, which primarily works at MCGamer.
We've crafted the MCGamer network around our infrastructure and ensured that everything is setup the way Chad and I have discussed one on one, and as well with our team. We're always improving the network, thus where my role at CubedHost takes priority for improving the network.

So yes, we do work for CubedHost, and we don't hear many complaints about lag in our Phoenix, Arizona location (where the US MCGamer servers are hosted) because we've ensured that our network is perfect for what it needs to be for - lag-free Minecraft servers. Usually when there's lag complaints, it's mainly because of the end-user's receiving low FPS or has a 768Kbp/s AT&T DSL plan. That's like the new dial-up. It just doesn't work.

If you're still receiving lag issues, if you want, feel free to open a support ticket with CubedHost and we can run through some debug steps, where we'll need debug information from your end. Primarily a traceroute.
If you're in US, you'll receive the best connection to US. EU users will have a better connection to EU. AU, AU. If you're complaining about lag from AU to US, or US to EU, well, that's to be expected. It's over an entire ocean. You're not going to receive the same connection quality outside of the United States as you will inside the states.

MCGamer is with CubedHost because of the quality service, not because of convenience. However, I do see where you would view it as convenient. ;p

It's true. Very convenient when the owner of the hosting company you're at is part of the development team. :p
