PMC Servers- Why are they gone?

My friends and I have loved the pmc servers right from the get go. We were in the middle of a match when it shut down, and we saw that all pmc servers were shut down. Is this a permanent action or will pmc servers return? Im just looking for answers.

The PMC servers were only implemented to test the maps for the contest. Since the contest is over, the servers have been shut down.
