Nether Map

Before I start, I was wondering if it is possible to create a Nether map. Specifically where you start in the normal world and go into then nether via portals.

I think it is possible, a couple of them have been made already

I'm sure it is, but I think if you want a map completely based in the nether, it has to be done on superflat, otherwise they'll have to make you go through a nether portal once you spawn.

Or something.

I believe it would be possible, although rather tricky. the problem is would it be a fair map? I am guessing you mean this to be a SG map? Because if so, a map that required teleportation to the nether would penalize players with lesser tier computers severely due to world gen issues.(Having to have generated two worlds in quick succession used to demolish my old comp) However, if you simply wanted to construct an artificial nether, that would be perfectly fine I believe.
