Hey!

I have been wanting to create a map for MCG, but I need a little help.
-
First, where should I make the map? Singleplayer or a server?
-
Also, how do I get the map files on my desktop when I have finished?
-

Leave any extra tips below, also!
Thanks!

Usually, people make maps in single player, with the world edit mod installed and then you copy the world when you are done and you can upload it to a server of some sort. To get the files go to your %appdata% file and then you should see a folder called world saves or something. It should be there. By the way, 99th post :p

To get your file you have to right click your windows bar and click run, then go to %appdata%, click .minecraft, then click saves then find the specific save. Also I would recommend a private server (not that I actually know how to make those lol but I'm sure there are YT tutorials) so that you can use voxel sniper to terraform and stuff.

Also plan out what you are gonna do first and choose a specific theme for the whole map. Make sure you terraform the whole thing first before you put any structures at all. So keep some areas quite flat and open for pvp but have some hills to vary it a bit. Once you have built all your structures you have to place your chests and it's normal chests for tier 1s, enderchests for tier 2s. I would recommend on a 250 radius map around 40-50 tier 2s and maybe 200 tier 1s. Hope this helps and good luck :D

I would also recommend using VoxelSniper in addition to WorldEdit to give the map some landscape.
